AcousticTag for Post-Processing 3D Tracking Application

MarkTags is a comprehensive post-processing program designed to work together with AcousticTag Software, the primary acquisition and 3D analysis software for Model 290/291/295 Acoustic Tag Receivers.

The main function of MarkTags is for generating Tracked Acoustic Tag Echoes (*.TAT files) from Raw Acoustic Tag Echoes (*.RAT files) using various automated methods for marking the data.

In brief, AcousticTag collects the raw data from the hydrophones, which is imported into MarkTags. MarkTags selects and separates all the data contained in the raw data file and makes marked data files. These files now contain Tracked Acoustic Tag Echoes (TAT files). The file can be used to produce summary information (i.e. survival studies, travel times, horizontal distribution) or can be further processed in AcousticTag to produce 3D analysis results.

	Creates several data file types depending on the user’s choice of options within the application.
	All file types generated are ASCI-based text files and can be viewed by any text editor or imported into another analysis software.
	Bookmarking feature is a helpful time-saver allowing user to conveniently track time-stamped first and last detection times for each hydrophone.
	Capable of batch processing large amounts of acoustic data.
